We've been eagerly anticipating the next installment of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. Luckily, we won't have to wait too much longer as The Girl in the Spider's Web is set for release November 8.

And yep, we're excited to see some more of the new Lisbeth Salander, played by  Claire Foy (The Crown).

Of course, you may already have a favorite on-screen incarnation of the computer hacker heroine, played by Noomi Rapace in the original 2009 Swedish trilogy and Rooney Mara in the 2011 American adaptation.

But it's now emerged that Spider's Web director Fede Alvarez wanted to find his "own" Lisbeth Salander.

Enter Foy.

Alvarez talked to Entertainment Weekly about how the decision to go with a new actress came about, saying, "There was a lot of debate — but not with me — mostly debate among the studio, if they [were] taking that route or not."

When the time came, he entered the conversation: "Eventually, I think it was me coming in, saying, I preferred to have my own cast.

"As a director, I just didn’t like the idea of taking someone else’s cast. As much as I admired Fincher as a filmmaker I think Rooney Mara is Fincher’s Lisbeth, right?"

He summed up with, "And I wanted to find my own.”

Ah, that's understandable.

We completely forget that it's Foy on the screen; she's all Lisbeth Salander, right down to the voice. The English actress pulls off what is to our ears a pretty convincing Swedish accent.

The Girl in the Spider's Web, screenplay by Steven Knight and Jay Basu, hits theaters on November 9.
