Emily Blunt has made her presence known on the big screen, starring in flicks like The Devil Wears Prada, The Girl on the Train, and A Quiet Place (just to name a few). She’s now headed to TV, set to star in the forthcoming series The English, reports ComingSoon.net.
The six-part drama revolves around an aristocratic woman who travels from England to the U.S. in 1890. There, she meets a Pawnee ex-cavalry scout (Chaske Spencer) and the two “cross a violent landscape,” with the goal of getting to Hoxem, Wyoming. The new world doesn’t just bring opportunity, it brings trouble.
It seems these two were brought together for a reason, with the description reading: “Both of them have a clear sense of their destiny, but neither is aware that it is rooted in a shared past. They must face increasingly terrifying obstacles that will test them to their limits, physically and psychologically.”
Once arriving to their planned destination, they face further struggles. There’s been a series of unsolved murders, which somehow involves their shared history. From there, they must face their untold future.
The series explores themes of identity and revenge, fueled by race, power, and love.
