If you're looking for a new show that truly captures the moment, Nicôle Lecky's Mood is surely the one.
Based on Lecky's acclaimed stage play Superhoe, which premiered at London's Royal Court Theatre in 2019, the six-part musical drama series follows aspiring musician Sasha Clayton (Lecky) as she's drawn into the worlds of social media influencing and sex work.
The trailer shines a spotlight on Lecky's ambitious character, as well as her exasperated stepfather Kevin (Paul Kaye) and party girl/influencer Carly (Lara Peake), who appears to light a fire in Sasha.

In addition to writing and starring in Mood, Lecky has written and performed original songs for the soundtrack. BBC America's plot synopsis teases: "When she is kicked out of her family home, Sasha is forced to fend for herself, sofa-surfing with local dealer Saleem, until she moves in with party girl Carly, who introduces her to the exciting world of social media influencing."
"But as the gap between her online presence and her dream of being a singer continues to grow, Sasha finds herself struggling to escape a world that is more complex and darker than she could have imagined."
The show's cast also includes Jessica Hynes (Years and Years), Jordan Duvigneau (My Mum Tracy Beaker), Mia Jenkins (Hanna), Flo Wilson (Death in Paradise), Jordan Myrie (Stephen), Jason York (Sliced), Chantelle Alle (Vera), Ebony Aboagye (The Lost Girls), and Mohammad Dalmar.
Mood premieres on Sunday, November 6, at 10pm EST on BBC America and AMC+. AMC+ will launch the first two episodes on November 6, with additional episodes available to stream on the service one week early.
