It was announced last year that Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to star in the forthcoming TV series The Man Who Fell to Earth, based on the 1963 novel by Walter Tevis.
If the title sounds familiar to you, you may be across the 1976 movie starring David Bowie.
Ejiofor is set to take on the title role, an alien tasked with deciding the fate of mankind.
That is a lot for one being to take on…
In the recently released clip, we see Ejiofor and Namoie Harris’ character having an exchange, with her saying, “I’m talking to someone from another planet.” With him responding, “So am I.”
He makes a good point, this is weird for him, too.

While the trailer is brief, it seems he has good intentions for the people of Earth:

Us humans are flawed, but it turns out he has his own flaws, which we suspect will come up as the series rolls out.
We say that based on the logline, which reads, he “must confront his past to determine our future.”
It does make us wonder, why him? How did he get this job?
Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet are co-creators and co-writers for The Man Who Fell to Earth.
There’s no premiere date just yet, but once ready, you can look for the series over at Showtime.
Is this going on your watch list?
