Evangeline Lilly Tweets Her #WaspWorkout for 'Ant-Man' Sequel

You may have already seen yesterday's (August 28) big reveal, because it's pretty much wallpapering the internet, with Evangeline Lilly (Lost, The Hobbit) tweeting out the first look of herself as The Wasp in the 2018 Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp.

In case you missed it, here's a peek:

In the first Marvel film, released in 2015, Lilly took on the role of Hope van Dyne, starring opposite Paul Rudd in the title role. Her character is a board member of Pym Technologies, founded by her father (Michael Douglas), which created the Ant-Man suit.

But, she's not quite suped-up yet in the first film, serving as more of a trainer for Ant-Man. But in the sequel, Hope's father passes on the Wasp suit to her, originally donned by her late mother.

One doesn't just wake up as The Wasp, though.

In addition to the first look, Lilly shared some updates on how she got ready for the action role — a method she unofficially deems the #waspworkout.

She threw out this photo of her throwing punches, working on strength-training:

Of course, a good diet helps keep the workout going:

Here's a look at the Instagram snap with the roots she's been noshing on:

Actual wasps eat spiders, caterpillars, ants (eek! Not an Ant-Man, for sure?), bees and flies... so, yeah, if we were going to follow suit, we'd go the veggie route.

The #waspworkout also includes walking:

It seems very serene, which is nice, because we have a feeling she won't have a lot of downtime on-set:

The Wasp suit works similarly to Ant-Man's, shrinking down the one who wears it... and... it has wings!

Here's a peek at a prototype, with wings intact, from the first film:

Ant-Man and The Wasp, directed by Peyton Reed, will hit theaters on July 1, 2018. You can also look for Laurence Fishburne, Judy Greer, Michael Peña, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Is she ready?
