Emily Blunt has signed on for a new role. You can look for her in the forthcoming conspiracy movie Pain Hustlers, reports Yahoo! Entertainment. Wells Tower (The True American) is set to write with David Yates (Fantastic Beasts) to direct.
You can look for Blunt as a single mom to a teenage daughter. In an attempt to get her life on track, she accepts a job at a pharmaceutical start-up. The story is set in Central Florida, and the office is located in a strip mall, if that helps provide a mental picture.
The official synopsis provides background on what’s to come: “Liza’s (Blunt) charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.”
The movie is described as “a hilarious, dramatic and wild journey to the corrupt heart of the American dream,” and is being compared to films like The Big Short, American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street.
That is a lot to live up to. But, with Blunt on board, it’s off to a strong start.
You can also look for Blunt in the revenge western series The English, with a release date still to come.
In the meantime, we’ll leave you with this (one of our favorite roles of hers):
