Dream Team Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are Working on New Comedy Series 'Truth Seekers'

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have collaborated on a number of film projects, like the Cornetto Trilogy. But the pair began working together back in 1999, when their sitcom Spaced first aired in the U.K.

Now, having launched the production company Stolen Picture, they're are circling back to TV and working on a new comedy called Truth Seekers, reports Variety.

The series revolves around three paranormal investigators. "Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something," says Pegg.

He also provides background on how the characters' truth-seeking business came to be: "It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown."

Sci-fi is definitely a language we understand, but for anyone who might need some help wrapping their head around the concept, Pegg ties it back to another project he worked on: "Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

Yes, yes, we "speak" zombie, as well.

The series is in the early stages, and there's no set premiere date. With the forthcoming project being backed by American production company Sony, there's a good chance it will land in the states.

We'll keep an eye out for those details and keep you updated.

In the meantime, you can look for Pegg in the next installment of Mission Impossible, M:I 6, in theaters on July 27, 2018. And if you're planning to see the Tomb Raider reboot (March 16, 2018), keep an eye out for Frost, who's starring alongside Alicia Vikander, the new Lara Croft. In addition to Truth Seekers, Pegg and Frost are producing and starring in the comedy-horror film Slaughterhouse Rulez, also coming out of their production company Stolen Picture.

Who would you cast as the truth seekers? Ooh, how about Simon Pegg and Nick Frost?!
