'Doctor Who's David Tennant Has a TARDIS in His Backyard, Spotted in At-Home 'Staged' Series

News just in: David Tennant has a TARDIS in his garden.

Fans spotted it during this week's premiere of Staged, a new BBC lockdown drama in which Tennant reunites with his Good Omens co-star Michael Sheen.

Tennant and Sheen play fictionalized versions of themselves rehearsing for a play in the six-part series which each actor filmed remotely at his own home. Tennant's wife Georgia Tennant co-stars as herself, while Nina Sosanya – who played Jess in Killing Eve – appears as the play's financier.

In a scene filmed in Tennant's garden, it's easy to see the familiar blue structure of the TARDIS in the right-hand corner.

Now, needless to say we have have some questions. Did Tennant "rescue" his TARDIS from the Doctor Who set, or did he commission someone to make one as a reminder of his Doctor Who days? And exactly how big is Tennant's garden TARDIS? It's pretty difficult to tell given that it's very much in the background of his shot.

Tennant has been keeping busy during lockdown, even moonlighting as a teacher, so we recently compiled a handy guide to everything he's been up to lately.

And you can catch his Staged co-star Michael Sheen in Quiz, a three-part true-crime miniseries airing now on amc.com and the AMC and BBCA apps.
