'Doctor Who' Poll: The Results Are In for Favorite 'DW' Guest Stars
We asked, and you voted! The results are in for your favorite Doctor Who guest stars. As we get ready for season 11 of Doctor Who, with Jodie Whittaker taking control of the TARDIS this coming Sunday, October 7, let's take a peek at the tally.
The Whoniverse put James Corden in the top spot with a whopping great 21.78% of the vote. Carey Mulligan got a lot of love too, scoring a respectable 16.84 %, while Maisie Williams took third place with a solid 9.4%.
While you digest all that, here's some info on each of the top-ranked actors' DW characters and their storylines:
James Corden joined DW in 2010, taking on the role of Craig Owens in the episode "The Lodger," opposite Matt Smith's Doctor. He reprised the role in 2011, starring in "Closing Time." Craig met the Doctor when he rented him a vacant room. The Doctor, in turn, helped Craig get up the courage to confess his love to his friend Sophie. But, as you can see in this clip, there was some confusion along the way:

Carey Mulligan played Sally Sparrow in the unforgettable 2007 episode, "Blink," which featured some sinister statues of Weeping Angels. If you make eye contact with one of these not-so-heavenly creatures, you're doomed to either be sent back in time — or death by broken neck. Sally, a London photographer, was exploring abandoned buildings when she came across messages written on the wall by someone who only went by... the Doctor. WHOever could that be? (Answer: David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor.)

Maisie Williams played the dual role of Ashildr/Me in 2015's season nine. She starred in four episodes — “The Girl Who Died,” “The Woman Who Lived,” “Face the Raven,” and “Hell Bent" — opposite Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. Williams portrays a Viking girl who dies in battle but is brought back to life by the Doctor using a repair kit. She then changes from Ashildr to Me and discovers that the Doctor has made her immortal.
