There have been various names thrown about as to who will write the next James Bond flick, temporarily titled Bond 25 and set for release in late 2019. Now, it seems that honor will go to — drumroll please — Danny Boyle.

He won't be going it alone though. He's teaming up with long-time collaborator John Hodge. The two have written a number of films together, including Trainspotting (1996) and The Beach (2000), which were both hugely popular and highly visible projects.

If Boyle is confirmed as co-writer, it will reunite him with Daniel Craig, who's set to reprise his role as 007. The pair worked together on a short film for opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Boyle attended a press screening for his new TV series Trust, and was asked about the progress of Bond and revealed that it's not quite a done deal: "We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really," reports RadioTimes.

He is currently working with Richard Curtis (About Time) on a forthcoming film, starring Lily James (Baby Driver). The project is being kept very tightly wrapped; there is no title, nor a description just yet. Boyle predicts they will begin shooting in six or seven weeks from now.

So, when that's in the can, he says, "Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now."

Woah, he's such a multi-tasker.

While clearly super busy, he has his head on straight, and isn't divulging any spoilers: "We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away."
