Please welcome interviewer extraordinaire Sharon Carpenter to the Anglo "squad." Sharon swung by the NYC premiere of A Monster Calls to check in with author Patrick Ness. Patrick wrote the fantasy novel A Monster Calls in 2011, which has recently been made into a film, and is also the creator of the Doctor Who spin-off Class.

Yeah, we agree, that's a lot going on for one person in a fairly small amount of time. Patrick could've held court on the red carpet all alone with such dynamic projects to talk about, but to make things even more exciting, he was was joined by the stars of the film including Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver and newcomer 12-year-old Lewis MacDougall.

A Monster Calls follows a young boy (MacDougall) whose mother (Felicity Jones) is terminally ill. He finds solace when befriending a monster, voiced by Neeson.

A Monster Calls hits theaters on January 6, 2017.

We can also look for Class in 2017 on BBC AMERICA. The DW spin-off revolves around four Coal Hill School students, who have hidden secrets and desires. They are facing their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow — and possibly the end of existence.
