Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline Set to Star in 'Disclaimer', New Thriller Series From 'Roma' Director Alfonso Cuarón

Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline are to lead a new thriller series, Disclaimer, from Roma and Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón.
According to Variety, Cuarón is planning to write, direct, and executive produce the Apple series, which is based on a novel by Renee Knight.
Blanchett's character certainly seems like a terrific fit. She has been cast as Catherine Ravenscroft, a respected TV documentary maker who has built her career on exposing the dirty secrets of well established institutions. However, the tables are turned on her somewhat when she finds a mysterious novel that appears to contain secrets from her own life. Its author, a widower, will be played by Kline.
Disclaimer will be Kline’s first ever live-action series regular role, though he has appeared in several TV movies over the years. Blanchett earned a Primetime Emmy nomination last year for her performance as conservative campaigner Phyllis Schlafly in Mrs. America, a limited series about the women's liberation movement. She also served as an executive producer on the series.
We'll see her next as part of a bumper ensemble cast in Don't Look Up, a black comedy movie from The Big Short director Adam McKay. Co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Mark Rylance, and Timothée Chalamet, it opens in theaters December 10.
