Tom Hiddleston is getting political again by signing up for White Stork, a new series about a wannabe Member of Parliament with a dark past.

The 10-part series is being made by the production house behind acclaimed coming-of-age series Sex Education and will be directed by Taboo's Kristoffer Nyholm.

According to Deadline, Hiddleston will pay a prospective Member of Parliament (MP) named James Cooper who gets vetted by a media expert called Asher Millan. She apparently discovers secrets from his past that could ruin not just his budding political career, but also his marriage and his rich and powerful backers.

Extremely intriguing, no? It sounds like a perfect fit for Hiddleston, who won a Golden Globe for his performance in his last miniseries, AMC's John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager.

Aside from his regular role as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, White Fork will be Hiddleston's first live-action assignment since 2017's Kong: Skull Island. But in that time, he's acted on Broadway and in London's West End in a revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal. White Fork will air on Netflix at a date to be confirmed.

Of course, Hiddleston is also set to star in Disney+'s upcoming Loki series, in which he'll reprise his role as Thor's adoptive brother and frequent nemesis. Owen Wilson has recently joined the show's cast in an unknown role.
