Casting News: Tilda Swinton to Star in Ghost Story 'The Eternal Daughter'

Tilda Swinton starred in 2019's The Souvenir, written and directed by Joanna Hogg. Swinton and Hogg are teaming up again, this time for the forthcoming The Eternal Daughter.

Filming is complete, which took place in Wales last year, reports Empire Online. The story revolves around a middle-aged woman (Swinton) and her elderly mother. The two return to their former family home, which stirs up old feelings and reveals buried secrets.

Their home was once a grand manor but is now being used as a makeshift hotel "brimming with mystery," according to the film's description.

With the word "eternal" in the headline, it does make us think... foreverrrr. And with it being described as a ghost story, is Swinton's character actually a ghost?! This is purely speculative, but at this point, there are few details, and that's our guesstimate.

What we do know is that the movie is coming from A24 and BBC, with Martin Scorsese set to executive produce.

We can also look for Joseph Mydell (The Missing), Carly Davies (The Enemy) and Alfie Sankey-Green, making his on-screen debut.

It's predicted the movie will come out later this year.

In the meantime, here's a roundup of some of Swinton's achievements, as part of our British Icon of the Week series.
