Stephen Graham and Steven Knight are teaming up again – this time for A Thousand Blows, a 12-part drama series set in Victorian London.
Deadline reports that Graham will play Sugar Goodson, a veteran boxer from London's tough East End who is described as "dangerous." The Disney+ and Hulu series will follow two friends who move to London from Jamaica, Hezekiah and Alec, and end up crossing paths with Graham's character.
Graham previously appeared in the sixth and final season of Knight's signature series Peaky Blinders. He also starred in the BBC and FX's 2019 adaptation of A Christmas Carol written by Knight. Both men will serve as executive producers on A Thousand Blows, which has been written and created by Knight.
Graham said of their latest collaboration: "To be able to work with Steve again and the talented team of writers we have for this project is truly wonderful. To tell the story of these incredible characters during this period of time in London is a joy."
Knight added: "I'm really thrilled to be working on this project with Stephen as well as the very talented production team and group of writers. I always love to delve into untold history, and this is a story that really deserves to be told."
Knight is certainly keeping busy lately. He has recently confirmed that a Peaky Blinders movie is coming, and teamed up with Elisabeth Moss for a European thriller series called The Veil.
