Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell starred opposite each other in 2015's The Lobster, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2017.

These two have now signed on for another project, taking the leads in Love Child, reports Deadline.

Love Child is inspired by the Oedipus complex, where a child seeks the attention of one parent, rivaling the other parent. So much so, as to push the second parent out of the picture. That's what's happening here, with Love Child focusing on a young boy, who plans to get rid of his "brutish dad," making it look like an accident, so it can just be him and his mom.

In addition to the parents and son, the story also involves a mysterious stranger, who throws a kink into the boy's plans.

Writer-director Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse) talks to Deadline about bringing this story to the big screen, saying, "This is my first movie with a plot and my first movie taking place in Texas. It’s fun and it’s sexy and it’s shaped by the Hollywood movies that made me want to become a filmmaker. I’ve loved Rachel and Colin’s work forever, and am so honored to be able to excite their passion for serious and unexpected work as well."

With this being in the early stages, Love Child has yet to receive a start date.

In the meantime, you can look for Weisz in Black Widow, opposite Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh. Farrell is also joining the superhero genre as Penguin in the upcoming The Batman, with Robert Pattinson in the title role.
