Paul Bettany is an actor who always keeps us on our toes, and his latest role certainly ranks among his most intriguing.
Deadline reports that he has signed up to co-star opposite Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in Here, a film that's being billed as a "breathtaking and revolutionary odyssey through time and memory." It's being directed by Robert Zemeckis, who definitely fired up our imaginations with iconic and innovative movies including Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Forrest Gump.
Here will be set in the same geographical location in New England over several generations, as this spot of land is transformed from a wilderness into a family home. We don't know who Bettany is playing, but we're hoping he'll get plenty of screen time with Hanks. The two actors previously appeared together in 2006's The Da Vinci Code.
Here is certainly a switch of genre from the movie Bettany is currently shooting. In The Collaboration, filming now in Boston, Bettany portrays legendary artist Andy Warhol as he forms a creative partnership with fellow pop culture disruptor Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jeremy Pope). It's based on a play that premiered at London's Old Vic Theatre earlier this year, which will transfer to Broadway's Manhattan Theatre in November. Bettany and Pope will be reprising their roles for the transfer, adding to Bettany's busy schedule.
