We were beyond excited when it was announced recently (August 4) that Sir Patrick Stewart will be returning to the Star Trek series as fan favorite Captain Picard.

But... there's more.

Now, it's been confirmed he's signed on to play Bosley in the all new Charlie's Angels, which will be directed by Elizabeth Banks (Hunger Games). Banks herself has also been cast in the reboot — as Bosley!

It's a bit confusing, but according to multiple reports, there will, in fact, be TWO Bosleys.

Bosley is the middle man between Charlie Townsend, who runs The Townsend Agency, and the female private investigators who carry out his crime-fighting assignments. We never see or meet Charlie (nor do the Angels) but instead hear him over speaker phone.

Charlie was voiced by John Forsythe in the original TV series, which ran from 1976-1981, but the character's identity was kept underwraps. Forsyth took on the role again for the first set of movies, 2000's Charlie's Angels and 2003's Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, which also starred Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. No one has yet been cast in the role for this latest reboot.

Bosley, meanwhile, was played by Bill Murray in the 2000 installment, with the late Bernie Mac picking up where Murray left off as Bosley's brother in the sequel.

Banks already has her "Angels," casting Kristen Stewart (Personal Shopper), Naomi Scott (Inspector Lewis) and Ella Balinksa (Casualty) as the police academy graduates-turned-PIs.

This isn't Banks first time helming a movie, having directed Pitch Perfect 2, in which she also played a singing contest judge.

According to the description for Banks' new film, "Charlie's Angels centers on a new generation of Angels as The Townsend Agency goes global, providing security and intelligence services to a variety of private clients with offices and highly trained teams worldwide."

The fact that they're going "global" might mean Stewart will keep his native British accent rather than playing it American. We should point out, two of the actresses playing the Angels, Scott and Balinksa, are also English.

Hmm... pure speculation here, but might The Townsend Agency have a satellite office in the U.K.?
