British rising star Olivia Cooke has signed up for a scarily intriguing role in horror movie Breeders
Deadline reports that the film is being directed by Kelsey Bollig, who previously made the acclaimed horror shorts Asking for a FriendThe Fourth Wall, and Kickstart My Heart. It's being produced by seven-time Oscar nominee Adam McKay (Vice, The Big Short), so it definitely comes with some Hollywood heft behind it.
But other than that, the project remains shrouded in mystery. Even its logline (or plot synosis) is being kept under wraps. Still, it certainly adds to a busy year for Cooke, who recently starred opposite Gary Oldman in the Apple TV+ miniseries Slow Horses. In August, we'll see her in the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon, in which she has a main role opposite Matt Smith and Paddy Considine.
Her previous movies include Steven Spielberg's sci-fi hit Ready Player One, drumming drama Sound of Metal with Riz Ahmed, and the poignant indie hit Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. There's no doubt she's really building quite the résumé.
