Casting News: Keira Knightley to Star in Holiday Movie About How Brits Celebrate Christmas
Christmas may only be a few weeks behind us, but for Keira Knightley, it could be coming around again much sooner.
The actress is attached to star in a currently untitled movie about how Brits celebrate Christmas, Deadline reports.
Young British actor Roman Griffin Davis, who recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Jojo Rabbit, will co-star as Knightley's screen son. It's a real family affair for the 12-year-old rising star, whose mother Camille Davis is writing and directing the movie.
Specifically, the film will focus on an extended family having a traditional Christmas dinner in the country. Shooting is due to start in the next few months and casting is underway for the role of Knightley's screen husband. X-Men/Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn is serving as a producer alongside actress-filmmaker Trudie Styler, whose previous producing credits include Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Still Alice.
In the meantime, we'll see Knightley in Misbehaviour, the upcoming film about the super-dramatic 1970 Miss World competition. Knightley stars as Sally Alexander, the activist who spearheaded a feminist protest against the contest as it unfolded at London's Royal Albert Hall in November 1970. The film opens in U.K. cinemas on March 13 and in the U.S. later this year.
Oh, and if you can't get enough of Keira, we recently rounded up the roles that prove she's more than just a costume drama queen.
Who do you think should play Keira Knightley's husband in her new Christmas movie?
