If you enjoyed Kate Winslet in Mare of Eastown, she’s signed on for another twisty turvy miniseries. The series, entitled Trust, is based on Hernan Diazs 2022 novel of the same name, reports Deadline.
“Trust” is quite a loaded word and makes for a just as telling title. The story revolves around a financier who has just gone over a novel based on his life, and he’s not that keen on it. He recruits a secretary to ghostwrite a memoir about him and to “set the record straight.”
But, as the story progresses, the secretary realizes what he’s saying isn’t all that true. Particularly, the parts about his wife’s role in his life. According to her observations, he is rewriting history.
If you'd like to learn more about the book itself, you can take a peek at this NPR review.
HBO Max, who acquired the rights to the book, said of the series: “Told in four different voices and genres, Trust is a narrative puzzle that subverts the notion of truth and who gets to define it.”
Winslet’s role has yet to be announced.
Are you picturing her as the secretary or the wife?
