Casting News: Jude Law in Talks for New Series from 'Jojo Rabbit' Director Taika Waititi

Jude Law is teaming up with Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi for a new series that's apparently envisaged as a "satire on Hollywood."

Law will produce as well as star in the limited series, which is titled The Auteur and in the works at Showtime. According to Variety, Waititi – who won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay earlier this month – will executive produce and co-write the series in addition to directing several episodes.

Law will play an "eccentric auteur" in the Hollywood satire, but it's unknown when production will begin because Law is due to start work on the new Fantastic Beasts movie, which is about to begin shooting in Rio de Janeiro. During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Law spoke about always sticking to J.K. Rowling's "secrecy clause" for the Harry Potter spin-off franchise, much to the amusement of co-star Eddie Redmayne.

Law also has two other series in the pipeline: The New Pope – a sequel to 2016's The Young Pope, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination – and the thriller The Third Day. In the latter he'll play Sam, a man who finds himself on a mysterious island off the coast of the British isles where the inhabitants are committed to a set of strange rituals.

Are you looking forward to seeing a lot of Jude Law in the next year or so?
