Jodie Turner-Smith has revealed that she has a guest role in the upcoming fourth season of Sex Education.

The Anne Boleyn actress shared the casting news at the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday (February 19), telling Variety that she was personally asked to join the show by new Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa.

"You may or may not see me in a little Netflix show called Sex Education," she said. "First of all, my scenes were with Ncuti Gatwa who – I'd die for him – and he’s my favorite character on the show. So when he called me and asked me to do it, I was like, 'I don’t care how much they’re paying – I’m doing it!'"

Turner-Smith is known for her roles in the movies Queen & Slim, The Neon Demon, and After Yang, as well as the acclaimed historical miniseries Anne Boleyn, which you can watch on AMC+

Meanwhile, longtime Sex Education star Emma Mackey revealed at the BAFTA Film Awards that the show's upcoming fourth season will be her last. When asked whether she would be returning for season five, she told the Radio Times: "Season five? I've just finished the fourth one last week! No, I don't think I'll be in season five. I've said goodbye to Maeve."

Mackey had plenty to celebrate at the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday night as she took home the EE Rising Star Award, which has been won in previous years by John Boyega, James McAvoy, and Letitia Wright. You can check out our recent feature on 10 things you may not know about Emma Mackey here.
