Today brings some wheely – sorry, really – exciting casting news. Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Elvis star Austin Butler are teaming up for the motorcycle-themed movie The Bikeriders.
As Variety reports, the film is named after a photography book by Danny Lyon, but tells an original story involving a Midwestern motorcycle club. Beginning in the 1960s, it follows the club over the course of a decade as it morphs from a place where outsiders can hang out to something rather darker.
Jeff Nichols (Loving, Take Shelter) is directing and shooting is due to start this fall in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Bikeriders is the first movie Comer has signed up for since BBC America's award-winning series Killing Eve came to an end earlier this year. Her previous big screen roles include Ridley Scott's historical film The Last Duel and fantasy blockbuster Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds.
Comer, who won a BAFTA and Emmy for her performance in Killing Eve, has recently completed a sold-out West End run in the one-woman play Prima Facie. It was announced in June that she will be bringing the play to Broadway in 2023.
