Casting News: 'Jessica Jones' Co-Stars David Tennant and Krysten Ritter Teaming Up Again for 'Fuddy Meers'
We first saw David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) on-screen together in the 2015 Netflix series Jessica Jones. Jones, played by Ritter, was the superhero we'd been waiting for. And, her nemesis Purple Man (Tennant) was her reason for getting up in the morning... correction: at three o'clock in the afternoon.
The two are now teaming up for another project, the film Fuddy Meers, based on David Lindsay-Abaire's play of the same name, which debuted in 1999. Surprisingly, there isn't a ton of information making the internet rounds, but Ritter herself confirmed the casting via Twitter:

At first it was like, "Is this happening? Is this not happening? Why aren't people talking about this?" Well, Ritter is talking about it ... so, we will go ahead and be one of the first to announce it.
The story revolves around Claire (Ritter), an amnesiac who wakes up each morning not knowing where she is, or who she is. Her husband has to fill in the blanks. Until one day... a man, who goes by Lisping Man (Tennant), turns up to "save" her from her allegedly abusive spouse.
Since she has no memory from the days before, she doesn't know what to believe. Nor do we.
And, where does the title come from? A character named Gertie (Ellen Burstyn) — who we meet later in the story — has had a stroke, and is trying to say, "Funny Mirrors," but instead it comes out as, "Fuddy Meers."
And, for those of you hoping to see Tennant and Ritter together in season two of Jessica Jones... it doesn't look like that will be happening. But Purple Man may have a presence, as showrunner Melissa Rosenberg hinted in an interview last year: "I mean, if you have David Tennant you want him around forever."
Yep, yep, we couldn't agree more. "He's such an extraordinary actor and one of the loveliest people you'd ever want to work with," she continued. "But the show is called Jessica Jones, and it's about Jessica's arc."
She makes a good point and we're all about Jessica Jones. So for now we'll look forward to seeing DT opposite Ritter in Fuddy Meers, which is slated for release in 2018.
