We've seen Hugh Bonneville as an aristocrat in the period drama Downton Abbey and as a cranky dad in Paddington... what's next?
Bonneville has signed up for the forthcoming Netflix movie I Came By, reports Deadline.
It is neither a period drama or family comedy, but... a thriller. In regards to the title, who came by? Came by where? We'll get to that.
The story is based in London and described as a "neo-noir thriller." It follows a graffiti artist whose choice of canvas is the wall of wealthy people's homes. We're guessing they're not so happy about that. Nor, are they happy that this young guy discovers what's going on behind closed doors.
It's yet to be announced what role Bonneville will play, but we're guessing not the street artist, and instead one of the characters who are safely tucked away in one of the upscale homes. At least, "safely" at the start of the story, but from there... things take a turn.
According to the description, once the artist discovers a secret it "leads him on a journey endangering himself and those closest to him."
In addition to Bonneville, we can look for George MacKay (1917) and Kelly Macdonald (Line of Duty).
The project is in its early stages and is scheduled to release in 2022.
In the meantime, we can also look for Bonneville in the Downton Abbey movie sequel, which he is currently filming.
