Casting News: Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Edgar Ramírez to Star in 'Twisted Love Story' Film 'Nobody's Heart'

Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Edgar Ramírez are signed on to star in Nobody's Heart, a movie described by its director Isabel Coixet as a "twisted love story."
Based on a short story by Scottish novelist William Boyd, the film is set in Lisbon in the 1930s and based on the life of Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, Deadline reports.
Mbatha-Raw will play Lily, a woman who inherits her husband's cork factory following his sudden death. She soon enters into a relationship with his co-worker, which leads to surprising revelations about her and her late husband.
Shooting is due to begin in Portugal at the start of next year. "This is a fascinating, twisted and sexually charged love story between two characters sharing a unique passion with the background of Portugal in the 1930s," said Coixet, whose previous movies include The Bookshop with Emily Mortimer and Bill Nighy. "After reading William Boyd’s script, I completely fell in love with the story and I know there’s a hunger out there for these stories."
Mbatha-Raw, known for her roles in Black Mirror and The Morning Show, was recently seen opposite Tom Hiddleston in the Loki miniseries. Ramirez, Emmy-nominated for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, starred alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in the hit summer blockbuster Jungle Cruise.
