Gillian Anderson has been racking up the roles, joining the second season of The Great, which aired just last month, and currently filming The First Lady.
One might think that’s enough to keep Anderson busy, but she hasn’t stopped there.
She’s set to join the ensemble cast of the forthcoming Netflix movie The Pale Blue Eye, reports ComingSoon.net.
Based on Louis Bayard’s 2007 gothic thriller novel, the story is set at West Point, the U.S. Military Academy, in 1830. There’s been a series of murders, with a detective (played by Christian Bale) called in to investigate. He calls on the help of one of the cadets, named Edgar Allan Poe (before he becomes the famous writer, we know him as today).
The story is kicked off when a cadet is found hanging from a rope. And, even more alarming, the next day, the corpse’s heart has been removed.
It hasn’t been announced what role Anderson is set to play, but that leaves room for the imagination.
In addition to Anderson and Bale, you can also look for Robert Duvall, Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Timothy Spall.
Written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), the project is in its early stages and has yet to receive a premiere date.
If this leaves you wanting more of Anderson, here’s a roundup of 10 times she was completely iconic.
