Casting News: Geena Davis Returns to Killer-Thriller Genre with Action Movie 'Eve'

Geena Davis starred in 1996's The Long Kiss Goodnight as a former assassin-turned-housewife (until her memory comes back). It's just been announced (October 21) that she's signed on to star in Tate Taylor's (The Help) 2019 action movie, Eve.

Jessica Chastain, who starred in Taylor's The Help, will take on the title role. According to Empire magazine, Eve is "a cold-blooded assassin being hunted by her former employers." In addition to this sticky work situation, she's also tasked with explaining her "job" to her family.

Davis' role has yet to be confirmed, but The Hollywood Reporter is predicting she will play Eve's mother.

Production has already begun, with filming taking place in Boston, MA. We can also look for Joan Chen (Marco Polo), Colin Farrell (The Lobster) and John Malkovich (The ABC Murders) as part of this ensemble cast.

Taylor directed 2016's The Girl on the Train, starring Emily Blunt. He's making his return to killer-thrillers, too.

Here's a look at his on-screen adaptation of Paula Hawkins' 2015 novel by the same name:

Of course, we have our very own Eve at BBC America, played by Sandra Oh, who will be returning for the second season of Killing Eve in 2019.
