Casting News: Fiona Shaw and Jessie Buckley to Star in Mother-Daughter Movie 'Hot Milk'
Fiona Shaw and Jessie Buckley are to star as a fractious mother and daughter in Hot Milk, an upcoming movie based on Deborah Levy's best-selling novel.
Variety reports that Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread, Old) will also star in the film, which is being directed by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, who previously wrote the Keira Knightley movie Colette.
The dynamic between Hot Milk's central trio definitely sounds interesting. Shaw and Buckley will play Rose and Sofia, who travel to a clinic in Spain in pursuit of a cure for Rose's paralysis. Krieps will portray Ingrid, a traveller who befriends Sofia and raises Rose's hackles in the process.
"From Deborah Levy's hypnotic, powerful novel of longing, guilt, and love, Rebecca has crafted a tense, visceral, cinematic script and brought together a magnificent triumvirate in Fiona, Jessie, and Vicky," said the movie's producer Christine Langan. "It's inspiring to work with this deep seam of female talent and to support Rebecca's vision as director in bringing Hot Milk to the big screen.”
In the meantime, Fiona Shaw fans can watch her in the fourth and final season of Killing Eve, which premieres Sunday, February 27 on BBC America. You can also check out our recent feature on 10 things you might not know about Jessie Buckley.
