Casting News: 'Dispatches from Elsewhere' Star Richard E. Grant Joins Tom Hiddleston in 'Loki' Series
The Richard E. Grant renaissance – "Rich-assaince?" – continues with news that the veteran British actor has joined Tom Hiddleston in Disney+'s Loki series.
Grant's role is being kept under wraps, and Variety reports that he'll appear in just one episode of the series. In a way, this only makes his casting more intriguing: if Grant's going to sign up for a single-episode guest role, his character must really make an impact, right?
Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sophia Di Martino are all confirmed for the superhero series due to premiere in early 2021. It's rumored to follow Hiddleston's M.C.U. character, also known as the"God of Mischief," as he pops up during major events in world history and affects how things go down.
Meanwhile, Grant can currently be seen opposite Jason Segel in AMC's unique new anthology series Dispatches from Elsewhere, which airs Mondays at 10/9c. We recently rounded up some of our favorite performances from the prolific actor, who's riding a well-deserved career revival following his Oscar-nominated performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
He's also due to play a drag queen in the movie adaptation of British stage musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie. Sadly, however, he's yet to be cast opposite his longtime idol Barbra Streisand, whom he sings the praises of in this adorable clip from The Graham Norton Show.
