Daisy Ridley is set to star in The Better Liar, a twisty-sounding series based on Tanen Jones' novel of the same name.
Deadline reports that the series is being written and executive produced by Raelle Tucker, whose previous credits include True Blood, Jessica Jones, and Supernatural. Jones will play a woman who hires a lookalike in a bid to hide her sister's death so that she can claim their shared inheritance. This in turn opens a much larger web of secrets and lies.
The Better Liar will be the first lead TV role for Ridley, who broke through as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The London-born actress's previous TV credits include episodes of British TV dramas Mr. Selfridge, Casualty, and Silent Witness.
Ridley will also serve as an executive producer on the series, which is in the works at Prime Video. In the meantime, we can expect to see her next in Sometimes I Think About Dying, a romantic comedy movie that she also produced, which premiered at January's Sundance Film Festival.
You can watch her talking about her emotional goodbye to the Star Wars franchise in this clip from The Graham Norton Show.
