Casting News: Colin Farrell Joins Ensemble Sci-Fi Movie 'Voyagers'
Colin Farrell fans have yet more good news to celebrate: he's signed up to star in Voyagers, the upcoming sci-fi movie from Divergent director Neil Burger.
This casting is the third in as many months for Golden Globe winner Farrell, who's also joined futuristic sci-fi film After Yang and Arctic-set BBC drama The North Water.
According to Deadline, Farrell is one of several new cast members to have signed up for Voyagers, which centers on 30 children who are sent on a multi-generational mission to populate a new planet.
Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Lily-Rose Depp (The King), and Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One) are all on-board as well.
Meanwhile, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (It Comes At Night), Chanté Adams (Roxanne Roxanne), Disney Channel star Madison Hu, and Isaac Hempstead-Wright – a.k.a. Game of Thrones' Bran Stark – are said to be in "advanced negotiations" to join the cast, too.
Written as well as directed by Burger, Voyagers follows the young crew of a spaceship which descends into chaos after the captain of the re-population mission is mysteriously murdered. It's due to start shooting in early June in Romania.
Farrell's latest movie, Tim Burton's Disney blockbuster Dumbo, opened in theaters in late March. He'll also be seen opposite Jessica Chastain and Geena Davis in upcoming thriller movie Eve, which is expected later this year.
