Casting News: 'Black Panther's' Letitia Wright Joins Kenneth Branagh's 'Death on the Nile'

Black Panther's Letitia Wright has joined the cast of Kenneth Branagh's upcoming Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile.

Wright, who won the Rising Star prize at this year's BAFTA Film Awards, will play Rosalie Otterbourne, a lead suspect in the murder investigation led by Branagh's Hercule Poirot.

Armie Hammer and Gal Gadot have already been cast in the movie, which follows Christie's iconic detective as he attempts to solve the murder of a young heiress while on vacation in Egypt.

Death on the Nile is Branagh's follow-up to 2017's Murder on the Orient Express, an enormous box office success which he also directed and starred in. He's due to start shooting Death on the Nile in September for a 2020 release, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Death on the Nile, one of Christie's most popular novels, was previously adapted into a 1978 British film with an all-star cast that included Sir Peter Ustinov, Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Angela Lansbury, Mia Farrow, and Bette Davis.

Wright's latest movie, the musical Guava Island, debuted on Amazon Prime earlier this month. She'll also be seen in Avengers: Endgame, which opens in theaters Friday April 26, reprising her Black Panther role as Princess Shuri.
