Soman Chainani’s 2013 fantasy novel The School for Good and Evil is being adapted into a Netflix movie.
Paul Feig (Ghostbusters) is set to direct, and he has recruited an all-star cast, including Sir Ben Kingsley, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
We can also look for Rob Delaney, Charlize Theron, Rachel Bloom, Kerry Washington and Laurence Fishburne.
The story revolves around two friends, Sophie and Agatha, who are preparing to head to a new school where students are trained to be heroes and villains. Sophie predicts she’ll land at the School for Good, seeing herself as a princess like its fairytale alums Cinderella and Snow White.
And, Agatha, sees herself going to the Evil School, as it matches up with her dismal attitude.
But, as plans do, they change… in this case, their “fortunes are reversed,” with the girls each going to the opposite school than they'd imagined.
From there, the story becomes a tale of discovery, with the girls learning who they really are.
Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie are set to portray the two friends.
It’s yet to be announced what role Kingsley will be playing, but with filming complete, we'll keep an eye out for a first look trailer.
In the meantime, the finished film is predicted to premiere in 2022 over at Netflix.
Any guesses on what role Ben Kingsley will play?
