Husband and Wife Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin Team Up for New Film 'A Bit of Light', with Ray Winstone Co-Starring

Today brings exciting news for True Blood fans: Anna Paquin is to star in A Bit of Light, an upcoming movie directed by her co-star on the vampire show and husband of 11 years, Stephen Moyer.
Paquin will co-star opposite Ray Winstone in the movie, which is based on an acclaimed stage play by Rebecca Callard, Deadline reports. Paquin's character Ella is a newly sober woman who has temporarily given up custody of her young children, and is living with her father Alan (Winstone). When she develops an unexpected friendship with a mysterious teenage boy, it helps to repair her fragile self-worth.
Youssef Kerkour (Home) and Pippa Bennett-Warner (Gangs of London) will co-star as Ella's ex-husband and his new partner. The movie is filming now in London.
Moyer said of the project: "From the moment I started reading A Bit of Light I knew I wanted it to be my second film. It is a stunning piece of writing by my old friend Rebecca Callard whom I first met 25 years ago playing opposite each other as actors. We’ve assembled a quite extraordinary cast led by Anna and Ray who are wonderful together. I can’t wait to get into the edit."
Paquin and Moyer previously starred together in True Blood from 2014 to 2018. Moyer made his movie directorial debut with the 2018 indie film The Parting Glass, which also starred Paquin.
