Benedict Cumberbatch is on a roll. He’s currently starring in Doctor Strange 2 and is filming The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. He's not stopping there and has already signed up for a new project.
You can look for him in the forthcoming The Hood, from writer-director Paul Greengrass, reports Deadline. He’s set to take on the role of a farmer, who becomes a leader in a “peasant revolt in England.”
The project is being referred to as a period drama. The description doesn’t say which era, but according to the history books, the Peasants’ Revolt took place in 1381. That’s going pretty far back.
There were a number of moving parts to trigger the rebellion, but the main reason was the oppressive tax system.
There isn’t a ton of information on this project, but with Cumberbatch attached, it’s something to look out for.
In the meantime, in addition to the above, Cumberbatch is set to star in the conspiracy theory miniseries entitled The 39 Steps. He’s also signed on for a SciFi flick called Morning, where no one sleeps.
There is a lot of Cumberbatch heading to the screen. Are you a fan of his work?
