Barbara Hershey Set to Star in Upcoming Season of 'X-Files'
It wouldn't be The X-Files without Agents Mulder and Scully, played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, that goes without saying. But, they're not going it alone in season eleven, which premieres in 2018.
Deadline Hollywood announced yesterday (August 14), seasoned actress Barbara Hershey, who we've seen most recently in A&E's Damien and Once Upon a Time over on ABC, will be heading to FOX to take up a recurring role in the 10-part sci-fi series. Her character is Erika Price, and she is a big player in a mysterious organization. Mysterious indeed, because that's the entire description... for now.
If you'd like a little refresher, here's a look at her back in 2010 playing Caroline Hubbard in Agatha Christie's Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express:

Her X-Files character's description may have been summed up in one-line, but based on her earlier work, we don't expect it to be one-dimensional.
The beloved sci-fi show, which relaunched in 2016 after a 14 -ear TV hiatus, had its eleventh season confirmed this past April:

Anderson responded to the above, Tweeting at her fellow alien hunter:

He seems more than ready:

In addition to the show's leads, other returning cast members include Mitch Pileggi, Lauren Ambrose, and Robbie Amell.
Show creator Chris Carter will be overseeing the return of the series, and has already announced the writers room for season eleven.
They're all excited — are you?
