If you enjoyed the 2014 sci-fi flick Ex Machina and the more recent Annihilation (2018), you'll be happy to hear the films' creator Alex Garland has a TV series heading to the U.S.

The tech-driven drama will have a female protagonist and is set to be called Devs, confirmed FX today (March 14). In the pilot, we'll meet a young computer engineer, Lily, whose boyfriend has recently gone missing. She believes the tech company she works for is responsible in some way.

Rather than sitting on her hands, succumbing to the loss, she investigates the "secret" development division of her company. Though it's clearly not much of a secret if Lily is onto it!

The folks over at FX are understandably excited about this new venture, with Co-President of Original Programming, Eric Shrier, saying, "Devs is a captivating series from Alex Garland, building on his track record of groundbreaking work that challenges our notion of humanity amid the seemingly boundless promise of technology."

Garland wrote the pilot and will direct and executive-produce if the show goes to series, which is yet to be confirmed. But with Garland onboard, we have a feeling it's in the bag.

In addition to Ex Machina and Annihilation, you may be familiar with Garland's earlier work, like 2002's apocalyptic thriller 28 Days Later and 2010's high stakes sci-fi/drama Never Let Me Go. He's also working on the forthcoming Halo, a film adaptation of the popular video game.

It's a little early in the process, but any casting suggestions for the role of Lily?
