Kate Winslet is on a roll, racking up the TV roles. She’s set to star in Trust and The Palace, both headed to HBO Max. In addition to Winslet, you can look for Andrea Riseborough in The Palace, reports ComingSoon.net.
The description for The Palace is quite brief – a series about "one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel” – but, the casting machine is in full force.
Riseborough is set to take on the role of the palace manager. We can’t even imagine what the job description is for that position. At first glance, it sounds like a hotel manager, but with the palace’s occupants living under an authoritarian regime, we’re leaning toward… not so much.
While details on the plot are still to come, HBO’s Francesca Orsi has shared her excitement on the project, saying in a statement, “We are honored to be working with this incredibly talented group of filmmakers on The Palace.”
She goes on to say, “The notion that Kate Winslet and Stephen Frears, two of our industry’s leading lights, who — remarkably — have never collaborated before now, are joining forces to bring Will Tracy’s wildly original, prescient, and dazzling scripts to life at HBO is a dream come true for us.”
She had us at “dazzling.”
