6 Times Stanley Tucci Was Charm Personified on 'The Graham Norton Show'

The great Stanley Tucci returns to The Graham Norton Show this week to promote his new book My Life Through Food. To whet your appetite (pun intended), we’re taking a look back at all the times he was an exemplary guest on the show. Is it too late to invite him to our house for Christmas Day?

1. The time he discussed his status as the internet's favorite quarantine cocktail maker.

Who wouldn't want to enjoy a martini with Stanley Tucci? As he says in this clip, it's simply a "civilized" way to end the workday.

2. The time he discussed his surprisingly posh five-year-old son.

It figures that Tucci's kids have British accents – after all, their mom is literary agent Felicity Blunt, sister of Emily, and the family lives in London. But in this cute clip, Tucci admits he has no idea how five-year-old Matteo became quite so well spoken.

3. The time he discussed his cookbook The Tucci Table.

Graham Norton's dirty mind runs away with him here – in fairness, who can resist a schoolyard joke involving "sausage meat?" – but Tucci handles it like a pro.

4. The time he was fully reduced to tears.

You might want to bookmark this clip for the next time you're having a tough day, because it supplies pure joy. As our host shows us photos of poorly translated foreign menus – anyone fancy a helping of "chocolate puke?" – Tucci can barely hold it together. Just try not to join in with his laughter…

5. The time he recalled his teenage vacation job.

These days, Tucci is a glamorous movie star, but back in the day he was a jobbing "maintenance man" responsible for emptying a holiday camp's outhouses. Warning: don't watch this clip if you're about to eat…

6. The time he admitted he based his Hunger Games character, ever so slightly, on Graham Norton.

Given that Tucci plays Caesar Flickerman, a shiny/corny Master of Ceremonies character, this isn't exactly  a compliment. Still, Tucci manages to salvage the situation pretty elegantly here.

You can catch more of Stanley Tucci on The Graham Norton Show Friday (December 24) at 11pm EST on BBC America.
