Doctor Who favorite Tosin Cole is heading back to South London, where he grew up, for a new superhero series called Supacell.
According to Deadline, the series has been created by Blue Story director Rapman and will begin filming this coming Monday (August 15). The six-part series follows a group of seemingly ordinary people from South London who suddenly develop superpowers.
Cole's character, Michael, is said to be an "everyday working man" who's in love with Dionne, played by Adelayo Adedayo (The Responder, Time Wasters). The cast also includes Eric Kofi-Abrefa (Jurassic Park: The Fallen Kingdom) and Rayxia Ojo (Call the Midwife).
Cole completed his Doctor Who stint as Ryan Sinclair, a Companion to Jodie Whittaker's Timelord, in the 2021 episode "Revolution of the Daleks."  You can also catch him in 61st Street, AMC's legal thriller series starring Courtney B. Vance that debuted in April. Cole plays Moses Johnson, a talented high school athlete who gets caught up in Chicago's notoriously corrupt criminal justice system after being accused of being a gang member.
