Helen Mirren (The Debt, The Queen) was delighted when her Hollywood Star landed next to fellow actor Colin Firth’s on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year. And now, the two British actors will be working side-by-side in Gavin Wood’s international thriller Eye in the Sky, reports ComingSoon.net.
Between the two British actors’ extensive filmographies, you’d think at this point they would’ve worked together on screen, but this is their first go around.
Mirren takes on the role of London-based British military intelligence officer Colonel Michelle Madden. She heads a carefully planned mission utilizing remote controlled drones. Things change when the plan goes from a “capture” to “kill” operation. Madden is forced to reveal this information to her boss, the British Foreign Secretary James Willett, played by Firth.
Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul has been confirmed to portray the American drone pilot Steve Watts. While the drone is unoccupied by a human, someone needs to man the remote.
In addition to starring in the film, Firth is working behind-the-scenes as a producer.
Filming is planned for September 2014.
