James Franco in 127 Hours
It's been said that Danny Boyle's (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) intense new docudrama, 127 Hours, might be a bit squeamish for some moviegoers. During its Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, one female patron put that notion to the test.
According to People, a woman suffered a seizure about 20 minutes into the showing, and was later rushed to the emergency room. Some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including the film's main character James Franco, Mark Ruffalo, and Minnie Driver, were in the audience.
"[The woman] said that it had nothing to do with film," the Oscar-winning director later confirmed.
The FOX Searchlight adventure film captures the true-life harrowing tale of hiker Aron Ralston (played by Franco), who cut off his arm when caught by a boulder.
"I have heard that people have passed out," Franco said. "But I have also heard that the people who have passed out have come back and seen the rest of the movie. It shows that people are invested in the movie and connected to the character."
Will you see 127 Hours when it opens in U.S. theaters this weekend?
