Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson Go Head-to-Head in New 'Venom 2' Trailer

We first saw Tom Hardy as reporter Eddie Brock in 2018's Venom. He's set to reprise the Marvel role, returning for the 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which we reported on back in 2019.

Brock lives a pretty typical life, up until he's taken over by a parasitic alien, who goes by Venom, that not only controls his body but also his mind. The title of the second movie does not sound all that promising for the world, but we should point out that Carnage is the name of another alien, who is Venom's archnemesis.

Carnage, an offspring of Venom, has attached himself to supervillain Cletus Kasady, portrayed by Woody Harrelson.

If Venom is a villain, with Brock being an anti-hero, and Carnage being his/their foe, what does that make Carnage?

That is a lot of comic book math to do. Based on our dig, it appears they're both baddies and they're going head-to-head in the new trailer:

It seems, this may call on the lesser of two evils principle.

Speaking for humans, how about the one who doesn't destroy the Earth is the better super-being.

Since Venom still has a bit of conscious, with Brock trying to hold onto some control and fight through, we're going to cheer for this team.

In the above clip, we hear Brock say to Venom, "You live in my body, you live by my rules," one being, "No eating people."

Hardy isn't just returning to star in the movie, but also contributed to the story, receiving a writing credit.

Andy Serkis, who you may know best from The Lord of the Rings as the voice of Gollum, is directing.

You can look for Venom: Let There Be Carnage on September 15.

Are you a fan of the Venom franchise? Tom Hardy? Both!?
