Matt Smith and Claire Foy Set to Be Ambassadors for Old Vic Online Initiative

Doctor Who's Matt Smith has completed filming on the movies Last Night in Soho and Morbius. And now he has a new project...

Smith is teaming up with his The Crown co-star Claire Foy to support London's Old Vic. Like a lot of organizations these days, the theater is going digital to keep things moving along.

Smith and Foy will act as venue ambassadors to kick off an Education Hub, reports Playbill. The initiative will have resources, how-to guides and interviews to inspire students, parents and carers. As well as a plan to connect senior citizens with primary school children via letters, emails and phone calls.

The latter is pretty much a modern-day pen pal. It's not only a good idea, but very sweet.

In addition to the Education Hub, Old Vic will be providing screenings of archived recordings via their YouTube page, including Patrick NessA Monster Calls, premiering on June 5. Ness is also known for writing the Doctor Who spinoff Class, which premiered on BBC America in 2016.

While this is all in the works and still to come, here's a sneak peek of their online experience, which has some real zip to it:

A lot of people are putting in the extra effort these days, with David Tennant stepping in as an English teacher, accepting Shakespeare questions from students. Additionally, Daniel Radcliffe and other actors are reading the first book of the Harry Potter series online.

Are you taking part in any of the online experiences that are being offered?
