There have been some rumors flying around that Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle were planning to do a fly-on-the-wall reality series for Netflix. And, to be honest, that sounded very unlikely… more like, impossible.
Everyone can sleep easy, because the couple has released a statement through their representative via Deadline, “The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows.”
And, there you have it. Whew.
The rumblings of reality began when the royals signed up with Netflix for a multi-project deal earlier this month. So, they are doing something, but we suspect that it will be of more substance, than say, “Keeping Up with Harry and Meghan.”
When the Netflix deal was first announced, the young couple released a statement outlining their intent: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us,” reported The New York Times.
We can look for programming that includes docuseries, documentaries, features, and children’s programming.
In the past, Prince Harry collaborated with his brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and wife Catherine, to put his time into mental health initiatives like this:
