There’s been a number of movies about people swapping bodies, like 2003’s Freaky Friday and 2009’s 17 Again. But, has there ever been a movie about a teenage girl swapping bodies with a serial killer?

Well, there is now… with the forthcoming Freaky starring Vince Vaughn as a serial killer known as The Butcher, who attacks a teenage girl named Millie Kessler (Kathryn Newton). When he stabs her with a mystical ancient dagger, they swap bodies.

Millie has enough on her plate, trying to get through high school unscathed by bullies and now she’s dealing with the struggles of being in a middle-aged man’s body. Which begs the question… if she’s not in her body, what’s The Butcher doing with it?

Oh, killing. He’s actually murdering Millie’s classmates who have been being mean to her. While she may have been okay with it in theory, she’s really not okay with it and has 24 hours to get her body back before this swap becomes permanent:

This is definitely freaky. Definitely fun. A little gross. Which we can thank director Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day) for, who co-wrote the script with Michael Kennedy (Bordertown).

We know Vaughn from comedies like Wedding Crashers (2005), Couples Retreat (2009) and The Internship (2013).  If Newton is new to you, you may have seen her in Big Little Lies (2017-2019) as Abigail Carlson. Or in Supernatural (2014-2018) as Claire Novak.

You can look for Freaky on November 13… yep, Friday the 13th.
