Are you ready for a bit of a Fleabag reunion? Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to reunite with Andrew Scott, aka her “Hot Priest,” in season two of His Dark Materials.

The Fleabag creator and Killing Eve executive producer has signed up for a small voice role as the dæmon of Scott’s character, Colonel John Parry. It’s definitely a chance for the two actors to reignite their screen chemistry, though, since in the His Dark Materials world created by Philip Pullman, the dæmon is regarded as a manifestation of the human soul.

Scott shared the exciting casting news during a Comic-Con@Home panel Thursday, Deadline reports.

“What’s beautiful to me about the books is the relationship with the dæmons and, I think this is the first time we are revealing this, but my dæmon is going to be played by someone who is very close to me in my real life: a young performer and writer called Phoebe Waller-Bridge,” he said. “The relationship is all about companionship, friendship, and loyalty and that’s what I feel about Phoebe in my real life so it’s wonderful that this is happening.”

His Dark Materials is due to return to HBO in the U.S. and BBC One in the U.K. later this year, with the new season an episode shorter than planned – seven instead of eight – due to coronavirus. Waller-Bridge joins a large ensemble cast that also includes James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dafne Keen, and Lucian Msamati.

In the meantime, Scott is preparing to star in a live-streamed play from an empty London theater.

Are you looking forward to the mini-reunion between Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott?
