Like the idea of seeing Michael Fassbender, Peter Dinklage, and Jamie Foxx in the same movie? It could happen, because all three actors are “in early talks” to appear in a remake of the classic Western The Wild Bunch.

Mel Gibson is attached to direct the remake, Deadline reports, from a script he has co-written. If deals are finalized, Fassbender, Dinklage, and Foxx will play a group of aging outlaws teaming up for one last payday.

The remake is conceived as a “contemporized” version of the 1969 Western starring William Holden, Robert Ryan, and Ernest Borgnine, which has been named one of the 100 most thrilling American films of all time. Shooting is expected to begin in the fall.

In the meantime, Fassbender reprises his role as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which arrives in theaters June 7.

Foxx’s first film as director, sports comedy-drama All-Star Weekend, in which he co-stars opposite Robert Downey, Jr., Gerard Butler, Benicio del Toro, and Ken Jeong, is expected later this year.

As for Dinklage, his first two post-Game of Thrones appearances will be voice roles in The Croods 2 and The Angry Birds Movie 2. He’s also due to star in The Thicket, a dark and twisted thriller based on Joe R. Lansdale‘s novel of the same name.
